Working in a Perfect World… Entertainment

Hi! My name is Jason and I work at the North American office of Perfect World Entertainment in Redwood Shores, California. I joined the Perfect World family back in August and it’s been whirl wind of activity since then from launching the sleeper hit, action-RPG Torchlight, releasing huge expansions for our MMOs Perfect World International and Jade Dynasty to working closely with highly acclaimed comic book writer, Devin Grayson, on our upcoming MMO, Kung Foo!
We’re always up to something new and exciting and within my first week; I was given the opportunity to work closely with Runic Games on their single-player action-RPG called Torchlight. Runic Games is a fairly new developer, however the talent they bring to the table are not, including such veterans as Travis Baldree (creator of Fate) and the Schaefer brothers (Max and Erich, creators of Diablo I & II and co-founders of Blizzard North).
We attended PAX in Seattle and through all of the craziness of the conference being sold out, the floods of video game fans and swine flu epidemic, we survived. I had my iPhone with me and was able to snap a few photos while on the show floor, which I wanted to share with you.

You don’t brand Torchlight, Torchlight brands you… or at least until the temporary tattoo wears off. We had a ton of people swing by our booth applying these tats to themselves.

I’ve been meaning to post about this for awhile, but had not made up my mind on where to start a blog. It seems fitting then that this is my first post on the new Perfect World Entertainment portal as we begin to introduce new social community features. We hope that this becomes a place where gamers can exchange interests, catch up with old friends as well as meet new ones.

Yep, that's me! The temporary tattoos came out pretty well and we had many more designs besides the Alchemist character you see here.
