Happy holidays, deveolpers and fans! If I could chose a world to live in, it would be Faerun! I can't wait to play with you all! :) I had a dream that we were in beta until 12/2013! LOL I hope that's not the case, but how ever long it takes, it takes! We can't have our forgotten realms half-assed, now can we? Thanks for making this game! See you all in Neverwinter!
floyd0905

caladan4 @ Dec 31st, 2012 8:53AM
Looking forward to this game; looking forward to the Foundry and the possibilities with user generated content.
floyd0905 @ Dec 30th, 2012 4:35PM
how can I get a beta key?
mok33
Yep.
azmeena @ Dec 29th, 2012 2:03PM
Heyy Happy Holidays everyone - looking forward to the release in 2013 - hope all goes according to plan and Happy New Year to you all xx
sinistrad99 @ Dec 29th, 2012 8:08AM
Thank you for the beta keys! Having a great time and cant wait for more. Happy Holidays to you.
churchofshar @ Dec 28th, 2012 7:24AM
And it's kind of sad when they post a Happy Holidays message and you lot take it as an opportunity to jump down their throats. As if there isn't a thread or ten elsewhere dedicated to those exact issues...
wraithshadow13
There was a similar incident over on the Champions forums not too long ago. There was a dev post saying "hey, vote for us for this" and the people filled the thread with a whole lot of no thank you. It wasn't even mean stuff but just a lot of complaints about the current state of the game there. There were mean things here and there as well as people saying they would vote, but the majority was just long time players talking about how broken the game is. Granted they were asking to be called the best at something rather than just saying happy holidays, but it makes you wonder about the current state of the company when it's main games are breaking down and they're pushing out a new one soon. I honestly can't say that i blame any one here for wanting in to beta given how long they've been waiting, especially since it would help make the game stronger (theoretically) to have a longer beta period for testing.
stormdrag0n
Well Mr. White Knight even crypticmapolis a developer said we were justified in our frustrations http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?23621-Meet-the-developers
gillrmn
A follower of Shar feeling sad for others? Why do I see a very sinister Sharite hand behind this statement? ... ... ... ... I wonder.
churchofshar
The frustration may well be justified, it's the blind whinging that is absurd. Obviously they want this product out and purchased, probably much more than any of us customers do, they won't make a cent on it until it's finished. Applying constant pressure won't make it a better game, if anything, the constant barbs will distract them and possibly have them holding back on the updates. Don't get me wrong. I'm a Realms addict, I'm not even playing anything because this game is on my mind all the time. I really really want this to come out soon... but I've decided it would be more productive of me to support them in the development rather than scream for my beta key every time I post.
churchofshar
@gillrmn Hah, you read me wrong, I feel sad for no one. I think it's a sad state of affairs, the impatience of the masses, but trust me - my actions are not intended to comfort anyone. I want the best version of this game to play, and everything I say is based on that goal.
churchofshar @ Dec 28th, 2012 7:21AM
I want them to take as much time as needed. This "We want it now!" and "wtf is up with the delays" business ruins games. Most of you screaming about release dates and beta keys are the same ones who will cry bloody murder and vacate the game if it isn't up to your standards, yet you find it necessary to push the developers and risk that very thing. How many games have to go through this before the customer base wakes up and lets them have the breathing room they need to finish? Developing a game is never a flawless process, and rarely - if ever - does that development follow the prescribed timeline. Life happens, things change, rush it and it will suck.
gillrmn
Can't agree, can't disagree. People are usually crying from information and are cross at marketing for being tight lipped rather than devs - game still looks awesome. And they are sort of justified in that because "we will release a lot of information soon" which they said a lot has not come to fruitation.
targo29
Problem is lots of games are given tons of developement time and fans will wait paitently.only for the final product to be glichy and unpolished.Look at alpha protocol from obsidian, they were given 4 years to make this game.which is a huge amount of time for a single player game. And it was complete garbage, bad a.i. unpolished graphics and clunky controls. Then you have games like champions which cryptice has had years to fix many problems with the game but yet remain.players send feedback to cryptic all the time.instead cryptic spends more time making cash shop items. Most of the complaints would stop if cryptic would show signs that they are listening to the players. There are plenty of devs out there that not only aknowldge the complaints but actually try to fix the problems.I remember when cryptic was very concerned what their fans thought. Now maybe it's not so much them not caring about what players think or if it's pressure from PWE to rush content so fast without any concern for quality.
churchofshar
If this game sucks, I'll be first in line to let them know and take my $ elsewhere. But also vice versa. Either way we don't have a finished product yet, and all of that is moot. I'm not saying that if the game fails it will be 'because' of the pressure players put on the devs, I'm just saying that's the only result that can come of it. I don't think a game has ever been made better because players pushed for a fast release.
pixieminx
I agree with you church, although granted it can be understandible for one to be a little impatient due to the excitement of wanting to play neverwinter especially since it will be in mmo style. I don't mind waiting myself, the longer I wait though is really building up the anticipation lol But I am confident with all the time they are taking for the games public release it will definitely be worth the wait since some good mmos are so hard to find these days
shredstallion33 @ Dec 27th, 2012 10:20PM
Why has Every Forgotten Realms project been such a major ordeal when it come to being released on time? Kinda makes you wonder why they rereleased Baldurs gate enhanced edition. Maybe they are trying to get positive feedback on D
gillrmn
This game went through drastic changes compared to other games. At first becoming MMO from Co-op (which was good as devs revealed they were asked to make co-op against their will when they wanted to make MMO), and later PWE giving bigger budget to cryptic once they saw the feedback at awards and all. So both delays have been good for game.
mok33
Not every. The Goldbox games were released on time.
churchofshar @ Dec 27th, 2012 9:24PM
Happy Holidays to all of you and yours NW staff! The recent updates have been awesome, really looking forward to running about Toril in 2013.
misthoforos @ Dec 27th, 2012 6:31PM
People need to remember. Their original Publisher dumped Cryptic. Atari dumped a lot of developers in mid project.
shadow71
Really that does not mean anything due to the fact that even though Atari dumped a lot of the developers. The game has been showcased like it ready for beta at least. We are seeing classes races and even some bits of gameplay and it has been months now since the whole Atari thing so that is not even a reason for the delay
stormdrag0n
Not true when cryptic was sold the entire dev team remained intact, it has even grown significantly since then.
catburger003
Atari cancelled American Mcgee's Oz :< I hope they go bankrupt cause they don't do good games anymore.

untamed7769 @ Dec 27th, 2012 5:00PM
I am just glad that they are taking the time to get it put together rather than putting something out that isn't completed. To do that would only lead to even more people complaining. Probably the very same people who are complaining about how long it is taking would end up complaining even more and saying that the comapny should have taken more time to work out the bugs. Personally I would much rather wait rather than have something incomplete. Keep up the good work and I look forward to playing once it is ready
ch80 @ Dec 27th, 2012 4:55PM
now i understand why they call themselves cryptic studios. The very existence of this game is indeed quite a cryptic conundrum. I want to play...now... send beta keys to everyone who has posted on this message and let us give you feedback on the current build of the game. Clearly we are all jacked to play this and growing tired of waiting. Shit or get off the pot i say.
odinsfist1 @ Dec 27th, 2012 4:54PM
sure lets pressure them to release another half done glitch filled screwed up game. Let them have all the time it takes to make this game right. so far they seem on the right track, lets not screw up another good potential game with some idiots need for another 2 week gaming fix that they'll dump when they hit max level.
stormdrag0n
No one is asking them to release it now people who have been following the game for years is only asking for a bit of communication. For monsth now we have been told soon the information would start flowing at Gencon I was told "in just a couple weeks" by a Cryptic dev...all we get is silence. They need to take their time with development but they also need to communicate with their community while they still have a community.
iamtruthseeker @ Dec 27th, 2012 4:21PM
Early 2013. That's it.
mok33
I guess "early" can mean up to May, so we're still in the realm of possibility.
vastolordes @ Dec 27th, 2012 3:22PM
I don't want to hear excuses of when beta will be out. Or when it'll be released. I keep getting my hopes crushed cause of these delays... I'll just keep checking til I know it's 100% released.
gillrmn @ Dec 27th, 2012 2:25PM
People People!!! Have you noticed? Its a 2 handed fighter.
stormdrag0n
Or a one handes fighter with a Seperoth sword...grumble grumble...
emilemo
oh yeah :)
emilemo
indeed
blankman261 @ Dec 27th, 2012 2:20PM
Here is hoping no more delay notices. This game is looking good and I just want to hear dates NOT delay!
nemesis788450 @ Dec 27th, 2012 1:26PM
what do you expect guys, they have 3 classes done or partially done...3....nuff said
drizzit96 @ Dec 27th, 2012 11:43AM
Just communicate with your fan base already! All of us are tired of waiting and only getting tiny slips of information.
wraithshadow13
This. This right here. I know that cryptic has been very bad with communications minus Trailturlte and Branflakes being awesome, but the silence isn't getting old, it's been old and now people are getting upset over it. Just look at the Champions forums. Even the STO forums could use a little more communication from the devs. With all the things breaking in the other two games now is definitely not the time to keep quiet.
mok33
I'm not tired of waiting and I've been waiting a very long time. You just need to have patience.
gimpdaddy69 @ Dec 27th, 2012 10:38AM
they're too busy posting junk on facebook to get their game finished it really is just a huge joke i hope the people that have the money in this company notice how badly they've been slacking off and do something about it and it really is becomming just a huge rediculous joke...a rough estimate? how about a guess? i'd say maybe possibly before 2015
jimmie2 @ Dec 27th, 2012 10:32AM
I remember when this game was supposed to be released at the end of 2011 then pushed back to early 2012 then pushed back to the 4th quarter of 2012 and now it's 2013. At this rate hacking into their systems would provide more face value info then their devs.
tinypyro @ Dec 27th, 2012 10:26AM
This is becoming such a joke. That is basicly saying "Beta sometime within the next 12 months". "Maybe a launch within the next 12 months too if things go super duper spectacular!" Every day that goes by with more and more of these vague inuendos is another day I lose interest and faith.
stormdrag0n
Agreed they need to fire their inept marketing team and start communicating with their community while they still have one.
stormdrag0n @ Dec 27th, 2012 8:12AM
The "person" in the picture is that a really manly woman or a guy with boobs?
mok33
Maybe.
nemesis788450 @ Dec 27th, 2012 7:59AM
what the mods say is simply not true, you can read it up or even look at youtube video where the devs first say beta in autum, than it was beta late year / december and release q1 2013, not its beta somewhen 2013 and release - who knows...this game seems to have issues, they should have rather kept it a multiplayer game instead of making a messed up mmo
flartiebartstart @ Dec 27th, 2012 7:37AM
29,000 people like neverwinter, I don't understand that, how do you like something that doesn't exist, and it looks like it most likely never will, huh... neverwinter = neverhappen
