In fact the Guardian kit to me is superior to the Founders kit- dunno what they're doing here.
unclearimage @ Jan 30th, 2013 3:41PM
$200 is pretty damn expensive. I could swing $100, or $150 but for some reason $200 makes me go "uh..." Also... I hate spiders, I would rather have some other mount, actually if I bought the $200 thing I'd rather just not even get the spider mount, it's useless and I'll never use it. Super excited about this game though.
drakefb @ Jan 30th, 2013 1:37PM
Hero of the north pack for the win!
iamtruthseeker @ Jan 30th, 2013 12:51PM
Yes this is a FREE TO PLAY game. These are optional packages for great items and ptional access speeds. And you know why there's no stipend? Bcause there i NO MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION! That's not changing, period. But fear not, Pinpointerror has verified on his news threads that there will be multiple ways for free beta people to get in and it's still being finalized! But this is a GREAT way to show your support, if you wish to! want to!
kumosorn @ Jan 30th, 2013 12:33PM
My question is...if i buy the $60 or $200 pack will i still have to buy the game when it comes out...or am I just buying beta access....
mok33
The game is free. You are purchasing a bunch of exclusive items for the game.. i.e. mounts, titles. and companions.
traksik @ Jan 30th, 2013 12:17PM
when will nerverwinter come out already?
tirent0000 @ Jan 30th, 2013 11:01AM
How does one put founder on his forum name?
tirent0000
nvm
sasheria @ Jan 30th, 2013 10:31AM
Hero of the North should have everything including the "lesser pack. that is how it is done on other system (the higher you go, the more inclusive it is)
kal1el @ Jan 30th, 2013 9:48AM
So, are there no more subscription charges, just one-time VIP purchases?
trailturtle
Correct. Neverwinter will not have a subscription, so any purchases will be microtransactions. We'll announce more about those kinds of VIP perks and purchases as we get closer to launch.
rs2965 @ Jan 30th, 2013 9:46AM
I have no idea what 750,000 astral diamonds does for me. For all I know, it gets me one consumable. I seem to be taking an awful big risk and putting a whole lot of trust in Cryptic even thinking about investing $200 into a product I've seen very little of. I don't know...seems like a pretty foolish thing to do.
leihngwei @ Jan 30th, 2013 9:44AM
The Hero of the North ($200) pack looks on par with the Lifetime Sub for STO and CO, however it lacks the important thing that'll have me buy it, the monthly 500 Zen NW only stipend. And yes, it should include all the other Pack's items too. These Founders Packs games have been putting out focus too much on buying beta access and not enough on long term play. :-/
ianwagner
-Is- there a subscription option at all for NW? If there isn't, then there cant be anything akin to a lifetime sub. Though I second the comments of others here and would like my choice of mounts, dependant on what 'lvl' of founder pack I purchased. Same for pet.
sevargath @ Jan 30th, 2013 9:15AM
I am a guardian of the forgotten realms! armored horse to me!
geddings12 @ Jan 30th, 2013 8:57AM
i think the packs are pretty cool. i am going all out!
mastrshadow @ Jan 30th, 2013 8:17AM
I'd rather they justify the price than simply lower it. More details on what the cost on each item is, AD to $ ratio, whether it will be available from the Cash Shop after launch, what is the VIP room they mention, etc... Need more detailed information to drop $200.
dmironfist @ Jan 30th, 2013 8:08AM
while i find the $200 price tag hefty, it comes down to how precious and awesome a spider mount or 750,000 astral diamonds, an armored horse or amulet of protection...etc...are. if these are items that are not easily attainable, then i would say the prices are somewhat fair albeit with a premium added. in this day and age the opportunity to make money is grander than ever and marketting ploys are all the rage. that being said, i would hate to see a company not do well because it wasn't able to reel in some extra bucks selling perks as WOW has done so shamelessly. i thank cryptic for neverwinter and hope it is one of several D and D based games to come. LOWER the PRICE!
mastrshadow @ Jan 30th, 2013 7:53AM
You really need to release individual prices for each item in the pack so we have some proof to your claim that the pack is worth almost $600 after launch. Most importantly imo is the AD conversion rate.
vikingh3art
This. More information is needed for customers to make informed decisions.
lordxenite @ Jan 30th, 2013 7:43AM
Sorry Cryptic, your $200 price tag does not include a ZEN stipend for NWO, and considering how you revoked the Priority Login for STO Lifetimers, I can't even consider purchasing this deal.
tristanfey7
This is an apples and oranges comparison. CO and STO have subscription options which come with 500 zen per month as long as you are subscribing. They also offer a Lifetime option ($300) which gives you monthly subscription for the life of the game, hence you get the monthly stipend. Neverwinter is a F2P with no subscription option. No subscription option means no stipend. What the Founders pack does is permanently unlock options and features that are normally only available to a subscriber of a game.
futilepurpose @ Jan 30th, 2013 7:12AM
I dont want to complain about the price.... but how you guys calculate this exchange rate between Dollar and Euro?
jenny867 @ Jan 30th, 2013 6:49AM
As a person that likes to collect all the cool stuff I can in games and someone who plans on spending the $200 to get the Hero of the North pack I would have to shell out another $60 to get the Guardian Pack on just to get the wolf and horse. Seems weird that it doesn't come with it... my 2 pence.
vikingh3art
Agree. For $200.00 you should get all of the content from the lower tier packages (minus the astral diamonds).
nemesiswarlock @ Jan 30th, 2013 6:35AM
I was hoping that if you bought the $200 pack you would get its items plus everything that the other packs have also. Only seems logical to have everything that is available for that price.
demitrys
yes
magnifydotdk @ Jan 30th, 2013 6:19AM
Hmm $60 dollars = €56? Should this not be more like €45?
sevargath
In fact, I do not know why we Europeans must always take it in the ass! are 46 euro and will have to spend 56!
bobcat1313 @ Jan 30th, 2013 5:46AM
Well I might get the 60 dollar one the horse is cool and I love wolves
