Does the panther and wolf companion fight or are they cosmetic?
blackdaggerx @ Feb 4th, 2013 10:20AM
I seriously hope they bring back the same depth with which the original Neverwinter Nights series had. You want to dual-wield without wasting character feats, 10 ranger lvls babe. Free Imp KD? 6 monk for you. More Con as a Sorc/Wiz? You gotta give up spell DC on your FoD/Wails. I hope its not one of those WoW-type spam clicking MMOs. Please...NO. This is NEVERWINTER! Oh does anyone know if you pay to join beta, do you carry over when it goes live? If it simply resets, I don't see the "huge" advantage of being a founder.
mok33
Unknown at this point whether closed/open betas will carry over to live. Also Guardian/Hero founders packs give you 3/5 days early access, so that's one advantage they give you.
kellax3
Isn't that the point of a beta? Players checking the content, finding the errors, then doing it all over again... So the idea of "saving" your character from beta to live seems rather ridiculous.
athena0starfire
The game will be NOTHING LIKE the original NW Nights. Don't expect it to be, as fair I can see there is no Ranger, No Monk, No KD, No Cleric, No Paladin. Only 3 classes, Warrior, Mage-User and Rogue (most likey thief) There will be no "build an entire world from the ground up" and host it as a private server, there will be no decent toolset for the very limited 'episode creator' just the POS that was in STO. If you think this is going to be ANYTHING like NWN1 and 2 you are sadly mistaken.
mok33
Athena0starfire you are smoking the good stuff.

1) to everyone who complains about the so called 'pay to win' - there is no such thing as a completely free game, that would be like someone breeding cows, feeding them, providing vet services, generally paying all the expenses and in the end giving you a ribeye steak for free.. Wake up people. Of course there are ftp games that sell unfair advantages and if Neverwinter turns into one I simply wont play it. But the devs and publishers gotta make money out of it, if they dont it will shut down. 2) Why complain about paid beta access ? Sheesh, who forces you to do it? I know nobody came to me , pointed a gun to my head and said " hey gimme $50 for this beta key ". To put it bluntly, I couldnt care less about the beta, I wont a complete product and Im ready to pay for it if it pleases me. Now if they send me a key as a perk for being lifetimer in CO, well good. Ill try the beta, if not its all the same to me. 3) lets just wait and see instead of overheating on the Internet
maddmister @ Feb 4th, 2013 7:12AM
what times are the beta? Any info would be great looking to take the days off
mok33
Keep checking the forum and website, it has not been announced yet.
manavich @ Feb 4th, 2013 6:05AM
who cares about some beta keys i want to download the game and need a link...im serious about seeing this and not just because i can get some or have some keys...link...? dnd was a disaster for all things bioware i sure hope this isnt another multiple instance world that charges for maps ruins the gui and runs so bad it cant get outa its own way....oh.. need a download link...
mok33
The direct download and torrent download buttons are still grayed out at this point. That should change for some as we get closer to Feb 8.
infusionman @ Feb 3rd, 2013 1:26PM
Going to be a long week...haha! Been looking forward to this since I left DDO a couple years back.
nycteris1523 @ Feb 3rd, 2013 12:18PM
what about sto lifetime members i thought at one time they all lifers got beta keys is that still happening?
mok33
Yes.
jamethiel
How will those be distributed?
guerreiromt @ Feb 3rd, 2013 11:54AM
oi
ajc234 @ Feb 2nd, 2013 6:56PM
i have an Perfect world account already and was wondering if i am still able to win/earn/get one of the possible to get one of the beta keys
fazemladaiya @ Feb 2nd, 2013 6:44PM
First and foremost I want to thank the developers for this game. I already know I will be spending countless hours playing. Also, please do not give in and listen to everyone on here with the "Oh no, they charge for something so it is pay to win and we're getting cheated because I want to play an awesome game without paying for it" people. They are just upset because you cannot pirate an MMO like this. To the audience - because they charge for something does not make it pay to win. Where are you getting this? That is a delusional thought. When someone learns to read, they see that you are buying . . . a race . . . with a tattoo on the skin. And yeah they get a special ability . . . one that certainly does not effect game balance at all. It's like that in STO as well. People are always screaming P2W over there, when really you just get a different ability that makes a different set of sparkles across space, whilst giving up a slot for an ability you already had. Tradeoff does not mean unbalanced. ~shakes head~ I will definitely be buying the 200 dollar pack while it is still available. Why? Because SOMEONE out there has to support the game and make it free for everyone else who does not want to pay but rather sit all day on forums crying about prices.
demitrys
hear hear*i meant.
infusionman
Agreed. Thanks!
emilemo
what he said
deadmanswrath
Well Said
lordkoven @ Feb 2nd, 2013 4:09PM
call me crazy. i have a big problem paying $200 for something i'm not allowed to try first.
demitrys
Gues you goin have to wait for release.
infusionman
Its obvious your not in business. Try until you buy models drive new business into the dirt. Besides, when in life is anything truly valued without first counting the cost? People who try until they buy usually stay stuck in the try mode....gee sounds like a fear of commitment! HAHA!
hansochmauritz @ Feb 2nd, 2013 1:20PM
Perfect World, how about a Cosmetic micro-payment system, that way you get NO sad faces and NO unbalance between the players. Path of Exile managed to do this, why can't you?
drizzt272 @ Feb 2nd, 2013 11:27AM
sorry i meant a 2.0ghz processor
mok33
Guess you'll find out in beta.
drizzt272 @ Feb 2nd, 2013 11:26AM
So for the sytem requirments it says you atleast need a dual core s.oghz processor, and mine is a 1.9, do you think it will still work??
maddmister @ Feb 2nd, 2013 7:15AM
Another pay to win, GG
athena0starfire @ Feb 2nd, 2013 3:22AM
Let me get this right..according to the 'founders pack', to get access to the 'Foundry' you have to pay $200 for the highest pack as it does not state Foundry access in the Guardian Pack or the Starter Pak. So In order to produce content for thier product, with which they will be getting extra publicity and more content for thier customers for free that they did not have to produce themselves, it cost the customer spending thier time at it $200. Is this correct?
doctorcomics
No. Guardians get Foundry access immediately. Everyone else gets it at level 15.
mok33
I don't think Guardians get immediate Foundry access. It's not shown as a perk for them like it's shown for Hero.
drizzt272 @ Feb 2nd, 2013 12:23AM
ohhh okay, thats good to hear(:
drizzt272 @ Feb 1st, 2013 5:51PM
ARE YOU FLIPPIN KIDDING ME!!??? The whole reason i got a beta key, and the whole reason i basically want to play this game is because I wanted to play as a drow, but if you can't be a drow without buying this stupid founders pack that's $200 then wtfff! They shouldve made it like $60 not $200, im defianitly not paying that much. Im still gonna try the game out but it's not going to be as exciting as i thought it would since I can't be a drow:(
rathma86
I thought it was only the renegade that was with the Founder
mok33
Relax, you can still play the drow race. Only the renegade background is exclusive.
neowolfen
EVERYONE can play as a drow, all the Heroes founders pack gives is a Unique Background for them which provides a bonus ability (faerie fire) and they have access to a custom Tattoo.
bughunter357
you can still play drow just not play a drow that looks like Drizzt and have all the cool things he had in the book series.
barthan @ Feb 1st, 2013 5:41PM
So is there going to be a monthly cost to play this game?
mok33
Neverwinter is f2p. It will have a cash shop.
denkira9 @ Feb 1st, 2013 3:14PM
are u or are u not going to release the game
athena0starfire
Considering the last stated Beta Weekend is close to April, you can expect that the game won't be released at least for quite a few months after that, they will have to see about fixing things found in the beta. I would not expect this until at least the 4th quarter of 2013...They said 2013 that means they have till Dec 31st...And how many time have games been delayed..I hope they take thier time and its not a cluster-**** like STO was when it was released.
infusionman @ Feb 1st, 2013 11:26AM
Btw could I get some insight on how or when I can expect to recieve the beta keys please..many thanks!
infusionman @ Feb 1st, 2013 11:24AM
(There will be no surprise there... EVERY Perfect World game is 'Pay-to-Win' (they turned STO into it) so you can be assured that this is how NW will be. There is no doubt about it. Its already starting with 'Founders Packs' for a announced 'Free-to-Play' game to give paying customers the advantage.) I am sorry but this is too much..if you are not able to afford playing then maybe find a new hobby..like IDK..flying kites...or riding your bike. If I pay for the game its because I can't be bothered with all this cheapskate way of playing..plus...I can afford to have an advantage because I VALUE THE GAMES I ENGAGE....If you want free...play...something else..(sigh)
mcgruffin
No kidding, this is ridiculous. No way I'm paying for a founders pack to maybe get into beta. Pft.
feiced @ Feb 1st, 2013 4:46AM
vamos animi-sse vamos laa!!!!!!
athena0starfire @ Feb 1st, 2013 3:48AM
I only see 3 classes in the videos. If this is truly Wizards of the West Coast Forgotten Realms ADnD, where are the other classes? And whats with the ridiculously small amount of hot keys in the videos?
demitrys
4 class video i just dont see healer type video.
demitrys
oh nvm that what you mean.
mok33
There are 5 classes set for release with many more coming in the future.
