So when I click Register for Beta, it brings me to the create an account page, but at the top it says you are already logged in. So I clicked the link that says 'click here to continue' and all it did was bring me to the front page. It didn't say 'your signed up for beta' or anything like that. Just goes to home page. If you have an account, are you automatically opt in for Beta?
mok33
You are.

Was really awaiting this game, but now it looks like another money grabbing game sad. Will await it's release and then check it out. Have "invested" in other games and they have busted too often.
c0y0tejpm
I mean, they do have to make money somehow. Given that there is no subscription fee or initial cost, I think an optional purchasing component (like a cash shop) is perfectly reasonable if done properly.
wrathier @ Feb 7th, 2013 7:17AM
I am sad to read the outrageous comment and not so nice feedback to each other. Please relaxe a little.
dndxan @ Feb 7th, 2013 4:32AM
Do Alpha testers get to participate in the beta weekends?
lordyebisu @ Feb 7th, 2013 3:04AM
Fingers crossed.
lissiel @ Feb 6th, 2013 4:47PM
hi ya thanks for all the alpha playtests do automatically get into beta with that client only i cant afford the founders packs? also when are you planning to release this game and why are the beta weekends so far apart but pls keep up the good work wicked game so far:)!!
talhavian @ Feb 6th, 2013 4:14PM
I've played plenty of Betas. Some have encouraged me that the game would be good, only to let me down while others made me thankful I played the beta before spending any money whatsoever. I will say that I played and own RIFT and it was everything the Beta showed me and more - a solid game. I will not invest $60 in a game pack I've never even played though, much less $200 - that's outrageous. I am a little nervous about them taking my favourite Forgotten Realms and creating this but we'll see if they do it justice I guess.
qquenta
Agreed on the 200 bucks. That is, in my opinion, an outrageous price to basically gamble your money on the 'hope' that the game will deliver something you will enjoy. For my pocketbook, it's to risky.

If you are an R.A. Salvatore fan and a fan of D
barakhelmut2 @ Feb 6th, 2013 4:14PM
I just dont get it, all of this crying, from players, that were happy until they just knew, there will be neverwinter online, so now as there are sure things to know, they seem much less happy than before, when they were "just expecting to know more" lol.
qquenta @ Feb 6th, 2013 3:46PM
How long is this offer available?
zgbsn721 @ Feb 6th, 2013 9:34AM

I have the same problem.. Today is the 6th February but i cant download the client. i spend 189 euro for get access to the 8 february Beta Weekend.. i hope wont be any problem.
xxdeterxx @ Feb 6th, 2013 8:58AM
When do founder pack members get to access the beta? It says that we get into the beta 5 days early and the first beta is on the 8th. Today is the 6th and nobody has accessed the beta yet if I am correct? Am I reading the 5 day beta early access wrong?
argentveil
The early access (5 days or 3 depending on which pack you purchased) appears to apply to the actual launcch of the game, not the beta. So you won't get access to beta until the 8th. The advantage of being a Founder is that you get guaranteed access, whereas it doesn't look like anyone who just registered without picking up a pack is going to get into the weekend beta tests. At least that's what I'm seeing.
tylerdyrden @ Feb 6th, 2013 2:40AM
When you will support the download link? 2 days to go!!!
eguynth @ Feb 5th, 2013 10:35PM
any keys?
mok33
Yep.
primalgrudge @ Feb 5th, 2013 8:43PM
So your telling me I redeemed my beta key sept 20th 2012 and I'm still going to have to buy founders pack to get access this weekend? I don't think so. Says sever access TBD lol. Might just skip this game alltogether, leaves a diablo 3 taste in my mouth.
fazemladaiya
I would contact PW about the key. Keys were indeed given out to others besides the founder pack folks. STO Lifers, for example. I think mok33 stated that Torchlight purchasers and CO lifers will have access also. He mentioned something else as well, but not scrolling for it at the moment. Either way, it is not just Founders that get access. If it were me I'd shoot support an email with the key's details and verify which part of the Beta your key gave you access to (I think some keys were just for weekend 2, 3, etc. - but please don't quote me on that as it is just my interpretation of information presented in this thread since it started).
discordination
You get access to the later beta, the first too are for founders and contest winners only.
bedwyer @ Feb 5th, 2013 5:08PM
Been waiting a long time...founder pack in my pocket, looking forward to downloading the client...
athena0starfire @ Feb 5th, 2013 1:48PM
"blackdaggerx @ Feb 4th, 2013 10:20AM I seriously hope they bring back the same depth with which the original Neverwinter Nights series had. You want to dual-wield without wasting character feats, 10 ranger lvls babe. Free Imp KD? 6 monk for you. More Con as a Sorc/Wiz? " ----- The game will be NOTHING LIKE the original NW Nights. Don't expect it to be, as far as I can see there is no Ranger, No Monk, No KD, No Cleric, No Paladin. Only 3 classes, Warrior, Mage-User and Rogue (most likey thief) There will be no "build an entire world from the ground up" and host it as a private server, there will be no decent toolset for the very limited 'episode creator' just the POS that was in STO. If you think this is going to be ANYTHING like NWN1 and 2 you are sadly mistaken, mores the pity.. ---
mok33
Actually there are five playable classes slated for launch and cleric is one of them. Ranger is planned as an upcoming class.
fazemladaiya
@mok33 - DEFINITELY looking forward to that Ranger class then XD
demitrys
I thought i heard rumours that rogue trickster can be range class?
soulbearer1 @ Feb 5th, 2013 12:23PM
It says leave a comment .. Not a novel! xD

To all those people saying "It's ok to pay 60-200 dollars to play for beta weekends because the developers have got to make money": TWO WORDS: CASH SHOP By requiring someone to pay 60-200 dollars to play it has the detrimental effect of making LESS people able to play, and additionally HAVE LESS MONEY to spend in the CASH SHOP - Which is exactly where EVERY other PW title has made the majority of it's money. Additionally, the majority of games with "founders packs" give everyone access - Neverwinter has supposedly been giving out FREE beta codes, just like all the rest of these guys - News flash, games that started developing WELL AFTER Neverwinter have already given me beta access (even though they also sell founders packs) while I have been waiting for longer than a year and a half for a beta key. Additionally, the timing for Neverwinter's beta sucks - I had a captive audience of at least five people who needed a game to play during FFXIV's wait for beta - Now this group of people has evaporated, because open beta for Neverwinter is going to start after all the "beta weekend" nonsense - None of these people will be playing, as FFXIV's beta (and probably re-release) will be done before then. I am more than willing to spend money on Neverwinter - I cannot afford $200, I would probably pay the $60 option - however I REFUSE to pay money for a game I've never played, and cannot play with my friends (who probably cannot afford even the $60 pack) - F2P's winning strategy has been MICRO-transactions, not MACRO-transactions (meaning $5 here or there for convenience) Founders packs and pay-for-beta undermine this effective strategy.

I got a spider mount! na na na na na :p

That was quite the argument there, but I am still waiting for you to state where it is you saw that it is required to pay at all to take part in the Beta. As stated multiple times in multiple locations by the staff and devs (see posts here in the thread by mok33 as well (did I spell that right?) there will be others invited into Beta as well. Pretty much anyone who has an account at PW has a chance of getting in on the Beta. The packs are just an additional bonus that has been put out to support the game, and as a thank you, you get guaranteed access to the first Beta. Also, a LOT of games out there do not open their Beta tests to everyone. I had to be invited to the Beta weekends I did when Guild Wars was in development all those years ago. Also, it is your choice not to pay for a game you have never played. No one is forcing you to play; no one is forcing you to pay. That is why I am here. I paid so that you can have the benefit of playing once this game goes live. You may thank us later. I am still, even after my other recent post, trying to decipher where it is in human psychology that people are under some belief that just because a paid item is out there for a game that they wish to play, which IS free to play by the way, that they are being forced to pay for it? You have no subscription to lose, and you have no danger of being locked out of an account in this game for not paying. I like this method. Be glad it is not WoW. I still get spammed with emails stating "come play WoW. It is now free to play!" But then you read the fine print - yep - free until level 20 or so, then you are done unless you fork out cash. It is the same with Rift. I am on hold with Rift at the moment because I chose (CHOSE being the operative word here) to pay out to play this game (again my choice - no one made me do it). Again, no thanks are necessary, because I wanted to pay for everyone to be able to play this wonderful looking game (my judgment here coming from the videos and screenshots I have seen thus far, of course). You say PW is not using effective strategy, but it seems to be working . . . the game IS coming, is it not? So please do not make it sound like you have been personally wronged because of a Beta test. Keep in mind server stability issues. There is a reason for them filtering Betas. The first wave will have the fewest people, filtered out to those loyal and who have INVESTED in the game in order to make it happen for you (again, no thanks necessary). The next wave, of course, as hinted in multiple places, will be opened up more and have more people let in. And so the cycle continues until they are SURE that the game AND the servers (yes, this game does still use hardware) are stable and ready for you to have an enjoyable experience. This game is costing you nothing - be thankful for that or feel free to close this browser window and go back to playing something else which makes you happy and not so angry. :)
demitrys
lol
advoc
Wow, good job contradicting yourself right a freaking way with that stellar logic you got going. First they are screwing up by "restricting it to cash shop only to play", then you turn right around and say people are wasting money since they are giving the same founders pack access to everyone. Good job fruitcake, you're an idiot.
demitrys
eledaar the fruitcake lol
soulbearer1 @ Feb 5th, 2013 9:03AM
Spider Mount! FTW
toshmori @ Feb 5th, 2013 7:34AM
Just a question, If I "Already" have a registered username since I played Rusty, then I am already eligible for a chance for the beta weekend am I correct on this one? or do i need to "Create" a new one before I can have the chance for the raffle?
chubster67 @ Feb 5th, 2013 5:41AM
the dates posted above for the beta, are those the open public ones or the ones for founders people
mok33
Those dates are the announced closed beta weekends. Yes Founders get into them but so do Torchlight 2 preorders, RaiderZ elite pack purchasers, and CO/STO lifers. More people may be added to that list in the future.
zenebatos2 @ Feb 4th, 2013 8:46PM
Yeah bought a Guardian Pack, so that i can have a 3day before acces, wait we are the 5th?, so why can't i download the client?!...
mok33
That's not quite how it works.
sansin1303 @ Feb 4th, 2013 7:29PM
Can't wait.
reige1 @ Feb 4th, 2013 3:25PM
So supported the game today because I really want to try out the game this weekend. Just wondering when we will be able to download since we have less then 4 days now.....
