Neverwinter Beta Weekend Tips

Every hero needs an adventuring party, especially for the dungeon-delves with the best fights and shiniest loot. Neverwinter comes with plenty of tools to help you get social, both for meeting new allies and coordinating with old friends.
Neverwinter uses different channels for chatting – other Cryptic games have LFG channels, trading channels, etc. Some of these channels are also cross-game, so if you’ve got friends in Champions Online and Star Trek Online, you can keep talking to them while playing. Ask around with other players for helpful custom channels, then add them to your chat window through the chat settings option.
Most dungeon-delves have a matchmaking system, including the Cloak Tower dungeon and the Orc Assault event. Pop open the Neverwinter home page (hotkey “L”) and open the Queue tab. This window also outlines a number of other adventures, from the event schedule to top Foundry missions.
Already have friends you want to party up with? Open the social menu (hotkey “O”) and you’ll see your entire friends list, plus options to find parties and solo players, or to change your status to “looking for party”. Once you’re part of a party, you can use voice chat for coordinating attacks and heals – just make sure that you’re set to open mic or push-to-talk. You’ll only be hearing from people in your party, so you won’t have to worry about mic spam.

Personally, I think all the people spending money on this game are crazy. (Well, "crazy" wasn't the first word that came to mind, but it was the most polite word.) It's a Beta people! You are their bug catchers. They should be paying you.

It's a good system if it works. for 2 days now all dungeon delve events are bugged no reward no seals etc wat makes 140 seals like 14 dungeons average que is like 15min if you get the right group or you wil end up with 5 rogues:S and need to wait another 15min we do the math. if you guys do these events thats nice but it not working is alpha stuff.!

Wow...its amazing how many retards think that "beta" means you are actually playing the launched game. You are ONLY there to find bugs, glitches, and make comments about things you would like to see changed in the game, so maybe look up what a beta is and stop harrassing the developers and other productive posters with your half-witted shennanagins by posting useless crap that nobody cares about. You can ("OPTIONAL"...or in simpler english for the half-wits...."only if you want to") pay a founders fee to help out the good folks producing the game and participate in its evolution towards launch. This doesnt mean you get to PLAY the game and expect to keep anything you earn during beta.....its a test.... that is ALL. So maybe take your whiny bitch ass comments back to World of Warcraft and go cry on your panda characters shoulder. (: that is all.

Also note, the game is looking awesome, had fun during this beta weekend although i didnt quite get to log in til the last two hours. Will be there to test play and assist you guys with what is looking to be like a very great game! Glad i paid the founder package of 199$. Hope ya put our money to good use.

Lol I must say I can agree with you on that one pal. I get so tired of seeing crap like that while I am testing and I have been doing it for years. Now days it seems as if people place too much into the word "beta" and like you said it is testing. I remember when companies use to pay people for actually doing beta testing now it is just a joke.

Gotta agree with your general sentiment here.. Unfortunately, certain unmentioned companies decided to change the term "Beta" to mean "demo" or "playable ad campaign" and other companies aped this crap so now all the little kiddies who weren't around when "Beta Tester" was a job title just don't understand what a Beta SHOULD be. I personally get very upset when a company invites me into their Beta and I discover it's nothing more than a pre-release demo/playable ad... I've been in several Betas recently and have seen so many comments that show people just don't understand what an "Open Beta" is supposed to be (even moreso with the Closed Betas I've participated in) Yet another reason we should all stop throwing money at the big companies that try to make a profit off of EVERYTHING.. Betas aren't for profit, they are for making sure your product is ready for the market so that it can bring in a REAL profit on release... ......rant for the day over.... :) On a related note: GOOD GOD I HOPE I CAN GET BETA ACCESS!!! (burial/funeral expenses for grandma' TOTALLY wiped my budget for next 6 months or so, and this is a game I would GLADLY sacrifice most of my free time to help be great... I have wanted a great D

Having a fantastic time this weekend. The game is diverse a nd dynamic. The ugc will be a real asset for longevity. Can't wait to use the foundry. Great job Cryptic I was hoping this would not be a grind-fest and I hage not been dissapointed!

I don't see the reason behind paying for F2P game's beta access there is no official beta singup and founder packs are just money grab aimed at people who are impatient developers behind big projects don't need "support" how do you even know they see a penny from your "founding"

I bought the $200 founder pack, and it's been a disappointment so far. I keep encountering a bug where I can't interact with anything in the game world, and I get flagged and eventually kicked for being AFK even though I'm running and jumping around trying to interact with the world. I am not the only one with this problem, as there is a post in the bugs forum about this. Basically, everything goes perfectly during the tutorial, which takes place from level 1 to level 4. Once I get into the game proper, it's a matter of time before I lose the ability to interact with the world and I keep getting rubberbanded back to my starting location. Within about 10 minutes, I get flagged for AFK, and in 15 minutes, I get kicked out. One would think that paying for the most exclusive founder pack would result in a relatively hassle-free experience. The opposite is true; there are several people who bought the $200 Hero of the North pack complaining about this issue in the forums.

Are you serious? Do you know what 'beta' means? Beta is one of the testing phases before release, hence there WILL be bugs and issues to sort out. You can't expect to get a 'hassle-free' experience from a beta no matter how much you pay.

I'd buy a founder pack if I knew the game would play well on my connection. Cryptic Should have let PCgamer keys in at the last moment as it wouldnt effect founder sales in a bad way and people like me would get to see if we want to buy one. :(

Luckily, it will be F2P once it actually launches. You can try it then. What they are proposing is Support in exchange for beta access. It's not a big deal. I'm in the same boat as you though.
