First Beta Weekend an Ongoing Success!

It's been a huge weekend for Neverwinter, with the first of our Beta Weekends and the official announcement of the Devoted Cleric. Check out some highlights of the press coverage!
Total Biscuit and the Cynical Brit team had a run through the Cloak Tower, one of the early dungeons that heroes will be able to adventure in. They're joined by Lead Designer Zeke Sparkes, and they talked about everything from the lore to how differently each class plays.

It looks like Massively was impressed by Neverwinter's expansive character creation setup. They've made, not one, but six videos – half an hour of footage – showcasing all the options for bringing your hero to life!

I played the HELL out of the beta! Super cool, I can't wait to play again! I maxed out my Cleric (30) and got to about 15 with a rogue - Loved em both!

tbh I'm kinda pissed, I bought TorchLight months ago just for beta access. Unfortunately it seems I needed to speend a couple hundred bucks to get access. So yeah kinda pissed.

Now that a beta weekend has passed, will any of the heroes of the north packs be any cheaper? I imagine a good amount of people that wanted guaranteed beta access bought them just to get the beta weekends. It probally wont get any cheaper, just wishful thinking.

I was able to play for a bit this weekend. The combat system is a welcome change. The Trickster made me giggle everytime I ginsued baddies :) Well done ! A nice refreshing change on the MMO scene.

There is absolutely NO way to justify paying $200 for any of the items you get or Beta access. Maybe if this game had a Premium subscription and you got a Lifetime account like with The Secret World, but most definitly not for Digital Items that take little to no effort to create or produce.

Had a great time playing this game over the weekend. Managed to play all 3 classes, each of them are fun to play. Didn't get to play in the Cloak Tower, it wasn't fixed til after all my toons were over 20. Looking forward to the next beta weekend and new classes.....

I was able to play for about an hour this weekend, but it was awsome! great gameplay, graphics and story line. It was a ton of fun and I can't wait to experience more.

I got to run a couple of the 5man dungeons. I had a wonderful time. There's definitely lots of little and big bugs to work out, but don't take that as a negative comment, of course it's Beta. The community was very supportive and helpful to each other and I felt a little bit of the NWN fire start to come alive again. Thanks so much for the new Neverwinter game!

Loved everything that you guys have done so far and was very impressed at the standard for a first beta. I wasn't especially keen on the controls initially as it wasnt what you are use to in other MMOs however after the first few missions the controls became very comfortable. Cant wait to try the wizard class.

I never heard of it until people kept talking about it over and over in CO. Finally, I came to look and figured "Meh..paying for beta to be a founder? Whatever." Then talking to someone who was in beta got me to spend some money. Best. Choice. Ever I loved it! Can't wait till next beta weekend!

This game had it something "wow effect", expecially when you reach level 10 and playstyle customization starts. Can't wait to play with the Great weapon fighter class.

My first hour i really thought i was going to hate this game due to the fact i was on a laptop and had no mouse but after 3-4 hours of keybinding i managed to get past the issues. I love how fast and involved questing is I loved relic hunt and the once an hour chance roll.

Major Quest glitch. If you and a friend share a completed quest back and forth you can cash in for quest reward over and over.

Don't report stuff like that here. There is a very Easy to see Bug Button in the game. Posting something like that in the open is just going to cause everyone to exploit it, and more than likely cause them to lose their beta access.

I posted this half an hour before the beta closed. I really doubt that the developers would ban an account for exploiting a beta glitch. That is what beta is for. I have also noticed things posted on the forums get quicker responses than the bug button in beta. They have to be overwhelmed with the amount of beta bugs reported. Since this was, what I considered, a major glitch I posted it here.

I'ts amazing! Brings the good old Neverwinter Nights days back...Warm and fuzzy feelings! :D Only things I was missing were Half-Orc, Barbarian class and option to choose Icewind Dale as background. Add those and it's perfect! :D Keep up the good work!

this is the most fun i've ever had playing an MMO, thank you so much for making this game a joy to play! I love healers, and the devoted cleric is by far the best healing mechanics i've ever played in an MMO. Keep up the good work!!!!

Ive Had an incredible time in the beta this weekend.....Ive always love Neverwinter, in the Pen and paper game....they Cryptic team has Done a GREAT job of putting this together. Im so excited tobe part of this beta... ihavent been this giddy about an MMO in a very long time!

I haven't played this yet but from the way you all are talking about it I cant wait for this game to come out! I really hope I get a Beta key sometime because im way to poor to get a founder pack. Let me know what your favorite things about this game.
