Foundry Spotlight: The Dweomerkeepers, Act I
By sominator @ March 8, 2013 at 6:40pm

Welcome to the Neverwinter Foundry Spotlight!
The Foundry is Neverwinter’s featured toolset that allows players to create dungeons, stories, and adventures for everyone to play and experience. With the Foundry, you can build your own missions, brimming with quests, non-player characters (NPCs), monsters, role-playing opportunities, and/or non-stop combat, and share them with the world. Your imagination is the springboard for the Neverwinter Foundry.
The Foundry Spotlight is a community-driven column that focuses on hand-picked, inventive player-created dungeons that allow for action-packed combat, fun roleplaying opportunities, or other unique experiences. These exciting missions are recommended if you’re looking for a place to start with playing user-generated content, or searching for inspiration for your own future dungeons.
This week’s spotlighted mission is “The Dweomerkeepers, Act I” by zebular.
Mission Type: Lore, Retrieve
Average Duration: 34 minutes
Amount of Combat: Medium
Starts at: Cleric Millan, Protector’s Enclave
Mission Summary:
Rumors have begun to spread after the discovery of a Mystrallan structure in the Neverwinter Wood. These rumors weave tales of a lost Temple of Mystra and a band of drow followers of Lolth somewhere within the Wood. This structure may hold clues to the Temple’s location, as Cleric Millan believes. The Cleric of Lurue has set about to hire adventurers in hopes of unraveling these mysteries.
The Dweomerkeepers, Act I is the first in a series of 8 planned missions.

xavrath @ Mar 11th, 2013 11:57PM
I ran this mission on two different characters during the second beta weekend. It has become one of my very favorite Foundry missions and I will run it on all of my characters when the game releases. Great job zebular! The story is very promising. The first mission was fun and well designed. I am looking forward to future installments of this campaign!.
juicepack1 @ Mar 11th, 2013 3:33PM

juicepack1 @ Mar 11th, 2013 3:31PM

zebular @ Mar 11th, 2013 12:50PM
Thanks everyone and Crytpic/PWE. I am truly humbled and am very happy to see so many people enjoy this first mission. I am hoping and planning on having at least the 2nd installment ready for the next beta weekend. I hope! *the respectfully mage bows*
zebular
*the mage laughs at himself* That should have read: the mage respectfully bows*

I also ran the mission, on two characters, a cleric and a rogue. It was the only mission I gave 5 stars that I had run. Many missions are 4 star quality, but have some kind of flaw here or there that keeps me from giving them 5 stars. Keep it up, I will be donating some Zen to you once release hits. Also you definitely serve as not only an example of top end content, but an inspiration for fledgling Foundry users. I can only hope that any authors of content by myself can be as well thought out, written, and enjoyable as yours was.

Very well made story, looking forward to future installments. You can really see that Neverwinter was created around the foundry while the foundry was only bolted onto Star Trek Online.
xyazmynex @ Mar 11th, 2013 8:23AM
I have to agree this quest was very well laid out and I enjoyed it alot. It left me hanging for the next installment and the way it was laid out with the lore fit perfectly into gameplay. Thanks for an awesome weekend and I'm crossing my fingers to get next key when it comes out and the final release to be soon!!
barakhelmut2 @ Mar 11th, 2013 6:37AM
It could be great, looking forward to play with the Foundry :)

jchrise102 @ Mar 11th, 2013 12:18AM
I really enjoyed it a lot. It is exceptionally well written and has some interesting lore. Can't wait to play the next acts

I gave my spare friend beta key for the weekend to my son. He played all but five minutes. Total waste. It was worth a try to get him interested in the game though. I even told him I would get him all three starter packs if he wanted to play it with me.
duckshogun
Your son is an ungrateful bastard if only my dad did these kinds of things for me.
makkejensen123 @ Mar 10th, 2013 8:08AM
someone have a key over? plox give :) exion1@hotmail.se
mok33
no plox.
crypticbuxom @ Mar 10th, 2013 12:42AM
I played it and I liked it. Though things were pretty cramped at the very beginning of the custom area. But its a good first mission made by a player to get highlighted. I recommend this one to be played by every character you have.
thrynsyst @ Mar 9th, 2013 10:08AM
Well put together, a great example of what the Foundry is capable of.
chadillac5 @ Mar 9th, 2013 6:50AM
After seeing this quest many times on playthrough videos, I was delighted to play it myself last evening. Zebular has really fine tuned and polished the encounter since last beta weekend, well done!
theultimatex
Iwish I could say the same. Having no campsite or respawn that heal you out of combat sucks. Is that a game design limitation to Foundry or is this creator just cruel?
aracron
I agree. It was better this time around. @theultimatex - having a campsite inside the inn would not have made much sense in my opinion. Don't forget, though, you can also make your own by dropping a portable altar.
zebular
Yeah, sorry - I do plan on adding useable campfires as soon as we have them to place in our Foundry Missions. Be sure to stock up on the Portable Altars however, as these do the same thing as the campfires you see in the official story-line and game-world.

if anyone have an extra key i would be thankful to send me on kingsd96@live.com
khrysttoph @ Mar 9th, 2013 12:41AM
Tested last night. Good start for a campaign, I loved the scroll written in Drow, very nice (even if my drow is a little rusted!
dreamo1984 @ Mar 9th, 2013 12:06AM
I remember that one! It was really good! Not developer quality content, but definitely gave a great impression as to what kind of endless adventures I can expect from this game. I can't wait to join an RP guild that can actually send me on a unique mission via this system. It will be an RPers dream come true!
noolidnerd @ Mar 8th, 2013 11:54PM
So who made this campaign if the beta testers can't use the Foundry yet? I want to use the Foundry!
zolasuwaro
The Foundry has it's own Beta tester
protozea @ Mar 8th, 2013 11:24PM
It was alright, nothing really special though. Foundry users need to be able to craft actual boss fights (not sure if it's possible yet, can't actually use the foundry yet sadly, and all the foundry maps i've played through lack a real end boss)
guns35 @ Mar 8th, 2013 10:05PM
Is the server still down for anyone else, because I would love to play this.
pvthudson @ Mar 8th, 2013 10:04PM
I ran this dungeon tonight. Lots of spiders!
mok33
All it needs now is bees. Lots of bees.
kain3166 @ Mar 8th, 2013 9:56PM
it looks sweet can't wait to play
